d'Astro

So I've no clue the definition of what is in my header there. None. The band seems to have some problems of their own, because, as they describe it, "The drummer thinks he is in a disco, the singer is trying to be a white rapper, the bass player is clearly angry the world and it's injustices and the guitarist appears to be eating an entire beehive." Their website is really un-informative, if colourful, and all I've really learned from it is that they're from Leeds. By listening to their tunes, however, I've learned a few more things. Mainly, that they sound a ton like The Fall, but if The Fall did more things that I liked.

Similarites to The Fall, which just so happen to be my favorite things about The Fall:
Lo-fi sound
Dance vibe a la Gang of Four
Vocal delivery similar to Mark E. Smith, the man every parent wants their child to be

Differences from The Fall, which just so happen to be the reason that I think I like them more (even if they are less influential):
Less mantras. After hearing "Couldn't get ahead" yelled/spoke 30 times, the last thing I need is 15 more.
Shorter songs. The Fall have some killer hooks, but their songs are entirely too long. d'Astro keeps their songs short.

Here's a sample, which is an SKwS recommended track:
Four/four

Go listen at their myspace if you liked that one.
